[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

My umbrella is upside down and collecting!

“Pennies from Heaven” is a standard from the 1936’s film Pennies from Heaven.  It is a standard covered by a number of artists; however, I’ve taken to the Billie Holiday version.  I like this version because its laid back and has that interesting happy-rainy-day feel.

I can just picture some guy moseying down a street - wearing a suit and hat, hands in his pockets and a smile on his face - noticing the rain beginning to fall, but not minding at all.  (I think I’m this guy as I listen to the song.)

The band playing is Teddy Wilson and his orchestra which interject some pretty nice solos throughout the piece.  If you like anything you hear, ask and I’ll send it your way.
